Where good ductwork already exists and reaches everywhere, extending the existing system is normally the better value.
The signature is uneven performance: one or two rooms that never reach temperature while the rest of the building is fine, a system that runs continuously without satisfying the thermostat, or bills that have climbed without any change in how you use the space. We inspect the ductwork as part of diagnosing an airflow complaint rather than assuming the equipment is at fault, because replacing a healthy system does not fix a duct leak.
